The new head of a leading brand of block paving and permeable paving is looking to increase industry awareness of his products’ unique benefits.
Ben Summerhill, who was recently promoted to Commercial Manager of Formpave, part of UK building products giant Forterra, heads up a team of 13 full-time employees based in Coleford, Gloucestershire, where approximately 750,000m2 of block paving is produced annually.
The Formpave team are leading experts in permeable paving, which is increasingly seen as a vital element of Sustainable Drainage Systems (SuDS) in national and local efforts to tackle flooding.
Ben, 45, said: “I’m very excited to be starting with Formpave, having worked with Forterra for more than a year, and having built up more than a decade of experience in the construction sector.”
Ben previously worked for an aluminium manufacturing company for three years, and before that for two national builders’ merchants, giving him plenty of insight into the trade and knowledge of which products appeal to builders.
“I’ve come to this role with a background in construction product sales,” the Swindon-based father of four continued, “and I know that Formpave’s cutting edge technology and sector-leading expertise in paving, and permeable paving in particular, makes it the supplier of choice for forward-thinking architects and builders seeking bespoke paving solutions.”
Formpave provides paving for all types of projects, including housing developments, private roads and driveways, public sector installations such as car parks and public spaces, and commercial ventures.
Established in 1989, it is a world-leading authority on permeable paving. Its systems clean and drain surface water run-off in a controlled way and can also store water for purposes such as flushing lavatories, watering plants and washing cars.
